I put in my application and was contacted in 2 days for a phone interview. 2 days after that they called wanting to fly me in for the face to face interview. By that time I had read so much negative stuff on the other poly thread I decided to stay away. Didn't think I could afford the uncompensated down time with break downs.

Time off policy and Poly still uses paper logs.

Walmart SlipSeats. You don't keep the same truck. Every week you report in, you get a different truck. That means moving all your crap in and out each week.

In my case, that means losing my phone charger or my blue tooth charger or something else.

Walmart is a regional job which is nice.

Poly pays more per mile. Walmart pays more per drop and you do several drops a day.

Walmart also gives a 10% discount at Walmart, except for food. You only get the 10% discount on food in november and december (Holiday season).

Poly's time off policy can't be beat though.

Holy crap, 2 great grand kids?...did you start a family when you were 10? I hope my oldest grand kid doesn't make me a great grandpa until I am near retirement age, she'll be 6 in Dec.

$1,500/week at Poly is simple. That's just 3,000 miles.

$1,700 - $1,800 not hard to get at Poly.

Walmart is regional though and you get home every weekend at Walmart.

But Poly still uses paper logs !!! and Poly doesn't F with you. Great time off at Poly.

Who knows, maybe I'll switch to "Wally-World" some day.

    Poly shop is terrible...

Even after hand delivering your bills in your still only allowed to get half your money on advances and won't get that if you've gotten money for tolls and other frivolous items..the remainder will be adjusted with your settlement.

You get nothing for holiday pay...nothing.

The vacation pay is $500. They pay the drivers what the factory workers make as proposed to a weekly average.

They're pay deadline for turning in paper work for around holidays suck.. If you've already missed a week due to be at home, broke down, etc.. And you come in or on these holidays that fall around the Thursday, Fridays, or Mondays, (depending on the holidays) the payroll deadline for Monday at 5pm is changed Friday (before that monday) by 3pm... So if you missed that it would be a total of 3wks before you get a check.

THEY DON'T PAY YOUR STATE TAXES IF YOU STAY OUTSIDE OF TEXAS.

They pay per diem... But you don't get that per diem when your on their Grand Prairie facility.. So if you live in NC and you stay on their yard for how EVER many days...you gets nothing..
They have dental insurance. No vision insurance..
Health insurance is sky high as I have seen some ppl pay over $200wkly (pending on family size)
3kids and wife $200+ easy and that's not with the dental expenses added..
No layover unless you delivered to one of their customers..
It's an argument trying to get layover pay when dealing with the brokers.. And Poly not..not..not going to push the issue..

Sometimes you might sit a day or 2 waiting on a Backhaul. Yeah I said it.. And they've p.o alot of brokers off cause they will get one their own factory loads(from a broken down Poly truck)and leave the broker loads sitting sometimes from days to weeks..I've seen it with my own eyes.
When your running its good.. Any other time..it ain't.

    No breakdown pay either..nothing..
No doubt the money is good, no doubt..
But I'm quit sure you've heard that about that 50¢ per mile..
It's alot to think about before making a move like this. I'm not that guy to sugarcoat any company for a referral bonus.. It's other things too but I have to go.

"THEY DON'T PAY YOUR STATE TAXES IF YOU STAY OUTSIDE OF TEXAS"

I live in Texas which has no state income tax but am moving to a state that does have state income taxes.

They won't deduct my state income tax from my pay?

Anybody know if that's true? I thought that was illegal?
