If you go wireless be careful they have found ways of hacking into it and they get at all your information, They said I could buy a program to protect it. I just use one of them sticks and find someone to print off it. Saves on ink and the dang printer I had always was being shook to death.

Essential when dealing with oversize permits.
HP, always carry a ream of paper and 1 or two replacement ink cartridges (both color and B&W). Has lasted 3 years so far.
Wireless from I-phone to printer to send docs to print.Lepton1 Thanks this. -
I did not use my printer near as much as I did the scanner. I was scanning sometime 3 to 5 days a week. I always scan and transflowed my logs late in the week. No point in getting just a scanner to transflo with. Even if you don't transflo having a cheap printer handy can be nice. I know for me I remember several times I picked up a trailer from a drop yard and there were no permits on them or they had expired. This way you can get the permit without leaving to get it printed elsewhere. This another reason I urge drivers to have smartphones with lots of data available. Think about this in regard to running into a dick DOT cop at a scale and needing paperwork. <<has happened to me!

I also use the free DriveAxle app for scanning in all of my BOL’s, trip sheets, invoices, scale tickets, etc. It’s awesome...and free!

I use a thermal printer. My newer one uses blue tooth, prints direct from phone and laptop. My old thermal printer needed cables.
The inkjet printers i used, when it froze my ink would leak out. Also leak from vibration.
Also my thermal printer can run off a rechargable battery or 110.
