probably over 90% of freight moved by truck IS NOT hazmat. Not having a HM endorsement is no big deal as long as you never pull HM loads.
Possibility of a waiver for hazmat?

My thoughts exactly.snowman1980, Dennixx and kemosabi49 Thank this.

Sure... That 90 bucks you'll get back in the first month you're rolling, plus the long term increased compensation sure ain't worth it...
Bahahahahaha!snowman1980, kemosabi49, Crude Truckin' and 2 others Thank this. -
Used to get $100 to $200 more for oil field haz-mat. Today may get $25- $75 for the same load then again
One of the biggest will not pay for a specialized trailer ( Stretch trailer)
Certified empty and loaded weight ticket ( No split axel tickets ) Where are you going to find a 90 ft scale ?
Not to mention the attention those placard's attract from the boys in blue.
Getting so many are dropping Haz-Mat because of all of the above. -
LTL’s won’t even open your application if you don’t have hazmat. But who knows? Maybe some people prefer driving 28 days out of the month for less than $.60 a mile.Jamie01 Thanks this.

That's true. I got pulled into the same scale two times in a row out in Utah (salt flats a couple miles east of the Nevada line) because they saw the placards, and I was a standard 5 axle setup vs the local larger setups. The fellow inspecting me even told me that haha. He was a good enough guy to get along with and I passed the inspections, so nothing hurt. I was just surprised he admitted to pulling me in for those reasons though.

Hauling gas, I'm an easy target for those inspections... They pull me enough to know my truck number, and know they'll have a squeaky clean inspection

Please do not listen to people on the Internet that have absolutely no idea what they are talking about. You can absolutely get your hazardous materials endorsement because I myself was involuntarily committed and got mine. I said yes I have been involuntarily committed right on the application and they gave it to me anyways, I tried marijuana one time and my marijuana was laced 10 years ago And I was in the mental hospital for one week that was the only time I gad any mental health issues, have not had any issues whatsoever in the last 10 years nor anytime prior in my entire life they will work with you especially if you are not or have not been on antipsychotic medications… Just apply for Hazmat and give things a shot Usually the people who get denied for mental health are those who were involuntarily committed because they committed a serious crime and pled not guilty by reason of insanity Not people who spent a couple days in the Mental Health facility for general help or counseling The mental hospital is to help people get better, not ruin their entire careers for the rest of their life for a one time brief 72 hour hold

That is not true at all. Hazmat is absolutely worth it. Spend $300 to make an extra hundred thousand a year sounds like a good deal to me
