4 or 5 hours a night is all I can handle. I usually go to bed between midnight and 0200 and up and ready to go between 0500 & 0600. No alarm clock either.
We live like we want and are comfortable with. If the guy wants to be a trucker at 62 years old, then good for him; that's what he should do. He'll discover he's just one of 10's of thousands of 62+ year old drivers running the roads and seeing the country.

I started at the ripe old age of 60. If I can do it, just about anyone can. In all honesty though, the biggest challenge I'm having is with the DW. She can't yet accept the fact that I'm doing this because I love the lifestyle and the folks I'm meeting. She thinks I don't want to spend time with her. It's a balancing act for sure and one I hope you won't need to manage.

Wow! Catheters, diapers, this thread turned sour in a hurry.

Got CDL at 55, still driving at 63, no med issues or special apparatus needed thank you very much.

Age doesn't matter but it isn't to be taken like it is a job.

AND also one thing that isn't mentioned, this is one of the top five dangerous vocations, cops and firefighters are under them on the list.

The average age of US truckers is 57 or 58. At 62 you would do just fine. I'm 58 and OTR work is easy once you figure everything out.
