I wouldn't worry about it. It serves him right for tailgating.

If anything is said just say it was laying in the road and you thought you missed it. After all it was dark out.

They are plastic and are designed to do minimal damage if any. It probably went under his truck and he started dragging it, so he had to stop.

Don't let idiots like him bother you. Focus on your driving.

 

i had a AZ highway pa-troll on my donkey once,trying to find something to chase. He did this for couple miles, and i ran over a gator with my trailer tandems, and next thing i saw was black and white with cracked windshield get onto the shoulder real quick..... Too bad my tax dollars bought a new windshield for that car

 

Just curious here, but where were you when that happened?

 

My trainer had a saying " Don't let that 4 wheeler drive your trailer" good advice I think.

 

The first bit of advice my dad gave me when I started to drive a car was " don't worry about what's behind you worry about what's in front, unless you have to turn or change lanes" I have not had an accident in 35 years from listening to that advice. I have been over taken too many times to count.

 

I've never understood why a driver would even be worried about someone tailgating you?? Please explain to me WHY it matters if someone tailgates you!!

 

Next time slow down at a barely imperceptible pace until the next exit, as if you're experiencing power problems of some sort. You're concerned the driver behind you is perhaps DUI or has a stuck accelerator, because they're following so close.
