Logan is it the same Freeport (FTI) that has the petes that pulls the dry bulk trailers? I used to run with a few of those guys from up around johnstown to usg in baltimore.

The steel rebar is my first flatbed load. The dispatcher had sympathy in that it was raining. Fortunately our bar was cold. I watched two other trucks get loaded with 50 foot rebar that was still hot. It melted their straps!.

Our third flatbed load. This weight 45,000 lbs, but road well from Laredo to Nogales, AZ. Used straps as chains were not permitted by broker. Looking for feed back is there is anything we may have missed or done differently.

A header chain/strap around the front will keep the load from sliding forward into the cab of the truck if you ever have to hit the brakes hard.

Like shown in my picture, plate steel is notorious for moving if you have to hit the brakes. Any time steel is stacked on top of steel it doesn't take much force to make it want to slide.

drill mast we lded. Was told it needed a steerable rear. Never had to steer once all the way there. Chaining and strapping it down took some time and thought.
