I've been posting various stuff asking for help and advice since I decided to go the O/O route a couple months back. This post is offered as help for others in the same position.
I stumbled into a great deal while out trailer shopping and it really seems that what I am doing could work well for anyone else who just wants to see some money coming in for a change. Turns out these trailer dealers regularly need pick ups and deliveries. I managed to strike a deal, (and a written contract), that will not only pay off my flatbed but put another 8 grand in my account over the next 6 to 8 weeks. Lots of miles and some sketchy equipment but income is the key. On many occasions they have allowed me to find my own loads to supplement the deliveries as well. (Trailer interchange insurance is a must but I think adding that to my policy was only $1400 for the year.)
It's certainly worth calling around and seeing if you can set up something similar with local dealers. Hope someone finds this helpful.

I was enlightened when I came to LS to find they have agents that service manufacturers of trailers -
Power only, you pick up the trailer, and can load it at your will, delivering said trailer within 7 days.
Not something I ever did, but a nice option. -
