Finally out driving OTR. Learners permit. Test in 3 weeks. Turns out the trailer has those long white plastic panels on both sides of the trailer to make it more aerodynamic. You can't fit between them & the tires. I don't know what to do.
Also, the slack adjusters are covered with a thick buildup of grease so you can't actually eyeball all the parts.of course, none of the trailers in the YouTube videos look like mine.
What to do? And please don't tell me to get a different trailer. Of course I will if I can but what if I can't?
Pre-trip with plastic panels on the trailer

When I took my cdl test, we didn’t actually have to check those items, we just had to point to them and explain what we would check, if that makes sense.
Of course that was in wisconsin, and 8 years ago... not sure if things have changed or how it works in other states.lilredexpress and 650cat425 Thank this. -
not trying to call you wide bodied but I can definitely fit between the skirts with the tandems slide all the way forward. Want more room? Slide the tandems..... to the rear of course
Hazmat Cat, Whatagal and 650cat425 Thank this. -
Just watched a video & she seemed to have plenty of room. Noticed her tandems were slid all the way back. -
The instructor at the test will have you walk down naming everything no crawling around for the test. But get yourself acquainted with everything now anyways
lilredexpress and God prefers Diesels Thank this. -
yup currently in cdl school and thats all we are required to do in Arizona is point and explain what you would be looking at.
