- I really hate it when I see a bunch of experienced drivers whose careers have progressed since they were new to the industry. Who don't want to do anything to help anyone else, and instead spend their time mocking the new drivers because they have had more time in the industry to progress their careers. That's all I'm seeing in this thread. I'm the only one in the last 3 pages of this thread that actually has experience with prime.

I'm guessing your 3 pages is different than mine, lol. Though I think mine is set to like 20 posts per page.
I agree with all you have to say on this subject. If prime had a load board like where I'm at now I would be back there in a heart beat! I love my truck that I'm still leasing from prime, I have 1.5 years left on the lease and then I'll buy it out at the end. If I could do it over I would have done the lease purchase route instead of the lease, but I'm still happy with my decision to lease my truck from prime.
And for those that want to birch about me not being at prime anymore, it was because I didn't want a fleet manager any more. I wanted more control over where I went and not be at the mercy of a fleet manager. If if wasn't for that I would still be at prime.
I still have a lot of friends there and stay up to date on what's going on. If I can help a driver succeed and point them in a good direction I will.
All you trolls (I'm not talking about you @nofreetime ) and old timers need to remember where you started from and what your first 2-3 years were like. Remember how much you appreciated it when someone helped you out of the kindness of there heart with no expectations of something in return.Prime-Mate, Ssand Man, darthanubis and 6 others Thank this. -

You seem pretty on the ball . Did you lease your truck from Prime with the 15k down ? Are you hitting the spot rates ? Thanks. Oh and can you take the truck elsewhere ? If you don't want to keep it at PrimeLast edited: Apr 3, 2016

Worked his butt off, saved & did it HIS way.
May be doing exactly the same here in next month or so.
But, that is not to say that I haven't run my numbers & seen that L/P would, indeed, work for me if I went that route. It all depends on individual circumstances. Better know what your doing, though, if'n that route IS chosen. Just so much better if you can outright purchase, for so many reasons.
Against most all prevailing thought, we're not ALL idiots here. Though, we do have our fair share!
I typically refrain from getting into the tit for tat stuff, and just kick back for the entertainment. From time to time, I might chime in when the discussion gets more reasonable & grounded on the planet we actually live on.

Thanks, but I'm always trying to learn more as well. No I didn't do a lease purchase. I drove company saved money and paid cash. I leased a 2yr old truck for a few weeks then bought it. Gave me a chance to drive it, and have it looked over by mechanics before buying. I own outright and I can the truck anywhere. Primes lease and lease purchase drivers can do the same. As far hitting spot market rates yeah I'm well above that, and contract.darthanubis Thanks this.

I wish I would have too, I could have gone that route and done it a lot sooner than the way I did it. I think I would have been better off. Oh well here's to hind sight red.redoctober83 Thanks this.

Just so you know, that MOGLAR is a real pot stirrer. I posted on another forum about dogs in trucks and he just wanted to bash on the company I work for (apparently he drove for us for a short period of time and somehow thinks our company sucks even though no one complains about us but him) but if you look at his posts thats all he does is bash on companies he knows basically nothing aboutdarthanubis, nofreetime, Highway101 and 2 others Thank this.

Hopefully this will put the idea of why lease to bed, but it won't.
You lease for the same reason a store owner leases the building. It's the cost of doing business. You have no interest of ever owning the building or store front. Just making a load of bank while you're there. Is this concept really all that difficult. Some people don't want to own cars, trucks, or stores. They want to use them as tools for a job. Once the job is done, the owner can have the depreciated equipment, that's out of warranty, and on need of repairs back.
