Well at least you have the good sense to keep the Coffee-mate in the safe where it belongs. I have to do that too—my wife uses ten scoops in a cup of coffee... strict rationing at my house.
Probably asked over and over.......Guns ????????????

And here I was considering just having a high power paintball gun on the truck for self defense. Still hurts like a #####, and it's far easier to clean up paint than it is to clean up blood. Added bonus of being able to tell the cops to just look for the guy covered in welts and orange paint when my attacker runs off

Don't carry in the truck any longer as I'm home nightly.
Carried my trusty beretta 25 jetfire for 20 yrs of otr work though, many trips thru Canada.
Never had to use or even display it.
Back then we carried more cash and some places like the Watermarket or Jersey City truckstop etc. etc. were kinda dicey at times.
Is Rubes still there?
Nowadays with phones and cameras and cards instead of cash it's not a priority, but I do have a permit and carry on my annual bike trips to the backwood counties of America.
If I was OTR, I would probably carry a firearm with but no one would ever know unless....dennisroc Thanks this. -
I seldom if ever have even wanted to have one with me. There are a hundred ways to get caught if you try and sneek a firearm.
Drivers are held to the same laws as private citizens regarding firearms. If Shirtstain, NJ says no weapons unless you have purple daiseys under your bed, that's what you have to do to be legal. Most companies won't allow their drivers to have any weapons. Most customers are posted "no firearms".
To be legal everywhere 1) be a cop or retired cop with a badge, 2) don't have any weapons. YMMV
I think people greatly exaggerate how dangerous it is to go trucking. These days there are 30 languages spoken at the truckstop but few if anyone selling stuff, asking for money, offering commercial company. -
I went to a lot of customers and truck stops back in th 1990s where I wished I was armed. In the last 2 years OTR I cannot remember but 1 or 2 cities where I would like to have been armed, and those were not OMG bad places but more like "is this a bad place or just dirty & crowded". If you don't go looking for drugs, stolen bargains, or let lizards in the truck I feel comfortable not being armed. I did not in the past and my nature is to assume things are wrose than they may be so I prepare for bad.

Go to amazon, look at the Tippman paintball pistol and buy the pepper balls to go in it. -
I don't work for anyone and only go to gun friendly states. I didn't realize how relaxing it was to stay out of states filled with psychos.
