Most companys i know with reefers have one, just borrow it. We check every trailer monthly for loss. Only way to catch water gain/insulation degrade. Almost impossible to get rid of it later.(a summer in AZ with the doors open)

    Can we borrow yours....:D

I may have to discuss this with them all.

I know two identical trailers we have, an 03 (mine) and the company 06, both Great Dane Super Seals with Carrier Ultra's, my truck weighs the same with both trailers and full tanks. 34,200 empty.

Before we got one i used to have a guy from an insulation company come by once in a while. Not to be a smarta$$ but few people have a dyno yet they get it before buying a truck.

My company will allow us to lump our own loads, but they strongly discourage us from doing so. They will pay me $20 to lump my load, but will pay a lumper service up $150-$200...I have never lumped a single load.

I found the biggest problem driving a reefer was getting a good sleep at night for two reasons. The noise of the reefer unit was deafening even with ear plugs even though you do get used to it. And trying to be upwind of the exhaust is even harder with a reefer. If you are a neat freak those corrugated aluminum floors are really going to bug you. It costs to wash them out and they definitely do not sweep out well. You do have a 2nd engine to maintain and fill as well.

Never had any of the exhaust issues.

I use an air nozzle and 100 ft of air hose to blow my trailer out when i need to unless there is blood/ meat waste on the floor.

One of the O/O's has craftsman blower, drill, impact, work light, ect. Has acouple of extra batteries. Quieter than a gas blower. Had the company drivers take the gas blowers out because you could smell gas in the truck.
