Hi there I'm Jordan the main holder of this account. My husband is Tony. A little about us. We are prospecting the idea of becoming team truckers for OTR services. This line of work is perfect for us as we don't own a house, and only have a few small bills to care for with no immediate need for much home time since we rather enjoy being on the road traveling, even when we will have off time. We have a Boston Terrier named Gaia who's 4 years old now and has traveled with us almost 10,000 miles! My husband is dead set on starting up with Automatic Trucks because he believes it's the future of trucking. I've seen all the squabble and banter over which is better and honestly I wouldn't mind knowing both! Either way this is an investment I think we're both ready to make! Feel free to chat us up on here! We're new to all of this and any advice is greatly appreciated!

If you get your cdl in a manual transmission truck you can drive either. If you test in an automatic, I believe it puts an automatic only flag on your license...that may limit your job choices...good luck

Yes we have started to compile a list of companies. What we're looking for is a company that runs in automatics. I know its limiting our options, but were willing to work through any means to get on the road. Also looking for a company that will pay tuition and possibly room and board while we do this. Its a long stretch, but were willing to work our way down. After a few events that have come up recently we are feeling like life is kicking our ##### (excuse my french) into gear on accomplishing our trucking dream. Any resources we can find or that anyone suggests feel free to say so. This job is perfect for us and would become a lifestyle we could do the rest of our lives. Thanks everyone for replying! Hope to see you on the road soon!

    Knight Transportation
Southern Refrigerated Transport provides hotel room and meals. School is at University of Arkansas @ Texarkana,AR. They pay for transportation to get there.
Prime Inc. - tanker division. This isn't hazmat; it's food grade such as wine out of California heading to points East.

So many companies are switching to automatics that it's hard to keep up with.

I understand, but they claim it's proven autos improve fuel mileage.
