LoL I definitely agree with the "I smell a rat" response! .. One CAN get a brand new truck, but it's luck of the draw.. and even a 'new' truck can be trashed.

My experience with them... The truck I was assigned to had this list of "character" marks: (and NO I'm NOT making this up)

    1. Fiberglass plates RIVETED over the engine cowling as patches. The patches were then spray painted.

    2. The fiberglass bezel around the P-side headlight had been smashed, then SCREWED back in place.. but was so warped that it'd pulled through the woodscrew heads to pop out 6in.

    3. The P-side tank had 3 major dents, including one directly on the end weld.

    4. The P-side tank straps had been hammered back into shape.. (this creates metal fatigue and stretching.. meaning the tank would likely spin)

    5. The steps and step mounts on both sides had been damaged but sloppily reshaped. One mount was broken, and all steps were warped.

    6. The entire engine cover was so badly misaligned that it had rubbed and cracked where it touched other parts of the cab's exterior

    7. Exhaust leaks directly behind and below the cab.

    8. There were large holes in the floor of the cab and sleeper, and the carpet was soaked.

    9. there were water streaks on all the interior walls...

    10. The wind farings had been so badly damaged that they'd riveted "bandaids" to ensure the cracks didn't spread, and untreated wood had been used as shims on the elbow joints. (meaning that by winter's end they'd be rotted out)

When I refused the truck.... Kevin (the truck assignment clerk) kicked and screamed.. then assigned me to an 03 international 9400... With a coffin sleeper, flat top, no jakes... but I had to wait as it was one of the city trucks used for road tests...

I would like to hear from a real PTL owner operator. No offense, but not a company driver.

I experienced this first-hand. Im really not the snitching type but trying to protect my cdl and do everything right I reported a co driver for drinking on the truck, they routed me to murray for a new co driver and terminated me a day after they terminated him. Told me safety dept. felt I knew about the drinking before I reported it. Smh... LMAO.... if I didn't report it they wouldn't have known about it....
:biggrin_25513:and I was thinking why everyone im meeting been here for 5, 6, 9 months. I was warned but I ignored the post. Hoping people don't make the same mistake I made
