What do we as a community of drivers do with him when he's found? Give him a medal or throw him in jail?
But we don't know what all transpired but it could perhaps be assumed the one who did the stabbing is the one who did not move in a timely manner ... unless the aggressor backed out to flee.

Years ago at the petro in north Little Rock they used
To have a guy who done nothing but work the pumps.
No, he didn't pump the fuel he kept the fuel lanes moving.
You couldn't do anything else at the pumps unless
You were getting fuel.
No quick store runs,
No washing your windshield,
No checking your oil, nothing.
You either pumped fuel or parked.
Knocked out all the rage at the pumps.
I thought it was the greatest thing since
Sliced bread.
I guess the didn't want to pay the guy anymore
To do it. -

First you have to define who is this we? Then the community? Times have changed before my lying eyes in my life time. Common problems in my day were beaten out of those who will learn and do better, the rest who are stubborn and not able to learn were put into hospitals and or jail. Ive had a few go arounds myself over the years. Not necessarily where the Law would have to come in and arrest everyone. (And they would too.)
My thoughts must turn towards that of a concealed carry, to carry a knife and use it in commision of a crime as stabbing another human being, I will have to seriously consider drawing to open fire against the bad guy doing the stabbing.
But since I don't and did not carry a gun in trucking, a quick squirt of 10 gallons desiel fuel then tire thumper application is usually enough to subdue a bad guy. Clunk em a few times. Unfortunately Ive also learned that some people need that pain to really explode on you. (Im one of them...)
We can go around and talk carefully about various aspects of this unfortunate situation.l.... but where do I stand? Well... I look at it this way....
If you are not actively fueling, get that truck out of the dam fuel line. Park it. Then go do your truckstop thing. No wonder people get riled these days in this so called community.jethro712, bzinger, mjd4277 and 1 other person Thank this. -
When will drivers learn to get off the pump before they go inside? It is astounding to me that this isnt trained by everyone. Then again if that picture is indicating the FedEx truck, he didnt go far enough to get off of the pumps!

Looking at the image posted with the story, then I guess we can assume the person who was stabbed was the FedEx contractor driver parked at the pull-ahead line, and the fleeing suspect had to back out.
You rarely see these contractors stopped anywhere for long outside of their terminals. But they are prone to take breaks at the pumps if they feel there may not be any pull-through parking available (not that I've ever seen one breaking while properly parked).
I'm sorry but I don't have much concern for FedEx contractor drivers because if you see one in a truck stop, they're probably in a fuel line but NOT fueling.Lepton1, bzinger, noluck and 1 other person Thank this. -
I've actually been to that particular Pilot at Tom's Brook. When I went there, it was a madhouse between 8 to 9 PM at night with truck drivers honking at everybody at the fuel pumps or trying to get to the fuel pumps. Luckily for me, when I went there I was bobtailling and I was able to find a parking spot. A fight actually did break out that night that required a visit from the sheriffs department.

Another good reason to do away with the stupid 30 minute mandatory break?

All done and said, the driver who isn't gonna be driving and working for long is the one who stabbed the fellow driver. People need to learn how to report a driver blocking the lanes, because those who live by the gun, temper, knives, usually later after its to late are not doing so well after the police get up with them. I don't like it either, but I wouldn't stab or kill someone over it. I agree their lazy but violence isn't the answer, sorry
