that seems to happen a lot but I have to say it happens a lot more with steering wheel holders operating that truck that's struggling to go 1 mile faster then you are.

When I was working , I could have used an Onguard system, I would have worn it around my neck when dealing with idiots....just so I wouldn't hit "something "

I think he handled it quite well. If I heard beeping all #### day nonstop I'd be like this. No therapy needed afterwards.

Yeah, why should he take any personal responsibility for being abusive towards equipment he doesn't own?

You're not going to save them on the road. Where you can actually save time is by being EFFICIENT in pre-trips, enroutes, fueling, trip planning, etc.

My trainees average about the same amount of time to drive a load down the road that I do. Speed limits and traffic distract over the road speed more then anything else. Where I pick up the time is with the customers, backing, hooking, etc. I did a drop and hook, following every step that my company mandates in 12 minutes today. You want to save time, that's where you'll be able to make a real impact.

Efficiency is the reason I give for pestering my asset manager for preloads if I don't have one and am less than 1 day from final. If I know where I'm going, I'm already ahead of the planning game. I will also call shippers and receivers to see if they can take me early, if I can get to them early. Quite a few shippers and receivers other than the mega-DC's will happily get you in early so they can leave early.

Between trying to optimize my current load, having my trips mostly planned and organized before they are even assigned to me, and running hard, I can manage 3500 miles a week fairly regularly with Shaffer, even though I'm hauling reefer.

    TaterWagon#62 and Trucker61016 Thank this.
