Company I worked for had a notice out that drivers needed two kinds of protection to work in certain mines, but didn't tell me or offer muffs. After I found that notice on a wall somewhere I stopped at Despot and bought my own. Guy who trained me could not hear in left ear, never wore any protection, made fun of me for doing it.
Frank Speak Thanks this. -
I have some low-frequency hearing loss in my left ear from running pneumatics without hearing protection for a few years - and I had a muffler. The audiologist told me I'm borderline legally deaf in that ear.
