Total waste of your time messing with haz-mat through brokers. And probably direct too.

I have to disagree! There are guys hauling HM and getting good money to do it. If the broker or shipper does not want to pay. Blow them off, there are people paying well to get the job done.

Hazmat loads can be quite profitable despite what others may deem as so......

Haz-mat from load boards..... sure thing. I know of companies that do it with several trucks and make great money. Not so much so solo independents but maybe he knocks on a door and gets lucky?

    freight-time Thanks this.

It's worth it. Just don't haul for $100 more on a lane cause it's hazmat, hit them with extra couple of hundred minimum per load. Also it opens more new lanes for you. It's not just about the price itself.

If the next guy doesn't have hazmat - TWIC - passport, whatever, then it trims down the available trucks to take the load. The one time I have hauled it this year it paid better than the other loads in the area.
