Hi there. I was wondering about getting hired on with Schneider. I am due to leave for Tennessee on 6-14-14 to do orientation, training and to head out over the road from there for Western Express hauling flatbed. I would rather get hired on with Schneider as I have personally talked to a few of their drivers and they all seem happy and like their job. I am going to WE because I don't have recent verifiable experience though I have had my A cdl for 17 years. I did not know what I was getting into. WE had an ad on CL stating they had a refresher coarse, so I filled out the app and got excepted. I am new to this forum and wish I would have joined this forum before doing the application for WE. I have not read or heard one good thing about the company. Any help or guidance would be greatly appreciated. Thank you

I cannot answer your question about Schneider, but I will say this; just because WE has accepted your application it does not mean you have to accept them. Or did you sign a contract with them?

Otherwise, submit an application with Schneider and see where the chips fall. I bet you could complete the application while you sit around waiting for the response you want to appear, here.

Alaska, that's exactly what I did. Now it's just waiting for a recruiter to call me. Have not signed anything yet. I am suppose to get my orientation packet via email tomorrow. I live in Colorado and Schneider can run me regionally where as WE is going to run me in all lower 48. The horror stories of being home 1 time a month for 2 days, if I'm lucky are a bit much. I'll do it if I have to but would rather run regionally and be home at a more predictable time if that makes sense. The health insurance at WE sounds shady along with there management. Schneider has a good reputation and the 7 drivers I have talked to were happy to fairly happy. They all had good to say where as everyone on here has yet to say anything positive about WE. Thank you

Your welcome! I hope things work out well for you. I have Schneider on my radar also, I begin CDL school in September and plan on moving to the PNW in a year. If I cannot get on with a smaller company, Schneider will get a serious look over, tanker division in particular as that is what I intend to pursue.

Hope to see you post about the outcome.

Schneider has lifted its game in the last 10, WE has not.

    Run, don't walk.
