lol, I know the feeling . the kids sometimes talk the wife into letting me dress myself at home, they die laughing. but the clothes I carry on truck all mix and match.

navy blue and black gets me also.

mygrandfather was full blown colorblind , but he drove a schoolbus for countless number of years, he thought deep red was brown, for example

yeah I know the feeling. I stick with khaki colored pants or just plain jeans and solid colored shirts.

Negative, Waco tx for one has horizontal lights along with winter haven fl for 2 examples.... also... If you can tell red and green apart then do the tests, you should pass.... but common sense says you asked this question because you know you will fail.... also my 6 years as a healthcare specialist (68w Mike 6) in the army and 3 years as an lpn says that you will fail. Eg you can't tell the difference between red and green, or you are not colorblind. Also the regs about color blindness are not just for color recognition on signal lights, but for traffic signs, warning signs ect... and hey if you make it through the test and get your cdl I drive 80 on a dedicated just look for a red prostar (it would be a dark gold/yellow/brown color to you) with a black front bumper and I'll personally congratulate you in person.

Ok and op tell me "how color blindness works" as apparently my education, and experiences are not valid to you.

Also I understand your frustration, but I am not affiliated with the lawmakers. I was pointing out, that just because you can use you prior knowledge from your experiences (eg the location of red and green on a signal light) situation are not constantly like that, and could cause you serious issues down the road. Also my post was aimed abit at the one poster saying that no one check for color blindness.

Since it is a essentially a federal physical if you want to drive interstate, it essentially is a blanket statement.

Also, I was not shown the same old worn out book dating back to the Eisenhower Administration for the testing. I had to look into a viewer for the color testing, and a viewer for regular eye charts as well as the depth perception/field of vision.

Took my physical last week and I believe I was tested for it (Missouri). The nurse stopped me halfway down a hall, pointed to an eye chart on the wall at the end and said "read the smallest line you can". After that, there were 4 colored circles that were all light colors and she said "tell me what colors you see in the four circles".

As i am also red green color blind i can say i have had no problems except for the physical that crete puts you through. I failed that one and can only be hired by them if i were to pass a lantern test which after research i found has not been used since the 1970s. So i wont work for them no biggie. Ive been tested by the medical people by looking at 4 plastic things mounted on the door sill of the exam room and passed. The book ive failed every time ive ever seen it. Weird thing about my color blindness is a pumpkin and green grass look the same to me. I tend to wear a lot of black clothing since everything matchs then lol.

It kept me from flying....never knew!!!

Was tested for color, for the first time ever (DOT) physical last week...
Probably 15 to 20 in my years..never for color

He had the color strips attached to the hallway wall and just whipped one out as we walked by and said "what color is that?"
O my fricken sweet christ in heaven dont do this to me, I thought...It was a dark color. red or green, fricken coinflip...
I said red,he said ok , then the green, then yes, we ran the yellow as well..

Im beyond words how upsetting it is to know my #### can be taken from me at any particular physical...
