Looking for advice on where to come back to.
I live in North West Arkansas and have 2 years OTR Exp.
Clean MVR, no accidents, good safety record.
I came off the road for a local job and hated it, drove it for 10 months
then took a sales job for the 1.5 years. I can't stand the sales job and
I'm ready to get back on the road.
I'm having trouble figuring out which way to go and am asking for any advice.
I have put in an application to Tyson since they are close to me in my area.
Want to get back OTR and like to stay out long periods at a time. Looking to
stay out minimum 3 months out at a time.
Thanks in advance for any advice on this.
Question about coming back to trucking after 1.5 years.

Several choices:
Freymiller - www.driveforfreymiller.com - click on "Restore Program."
This is a coast to coast reefer outfit and trucks set up for driver comfort.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Schuster - www.schusterco.com - coast to coast reefer outfit. Nice trucks with APU.
Old hands. Drop & Hook. Great people.
It’s not right for you, at least you started off with a decent firm.
Several large accounts. I stay out three weeks or so.
If not this one, then similar. 200-500 tractors.Texas_hwy_287, OldSureHand and Poacher Thank this. -
OK, I have called Freymiller and spoke with a man named Nathan. One of the better recruiters I have talked with so far. Seemed very down to earth. They can get me back in with no training with my experience level.
Seems like a pretty good outfit until I read about the dreaded (at least to me) driver facing cameras.
Yes yes, I know "if you ain't doing nothin wrong what you worried about?"
I'm just no keen on the idea. Not a deal breaker but not ideal to me either.
Also called Schuster but had to jump off the phone with the recruiter because my kids called. Will make contact with them, and the others that have been suggested tomorrow.
I did talk with a recruiter from Crete and they would start out at .51CPM. Any words of wisdom on Crete?
I have put an application in for Tyson, and National Carrier. National has a little worse rep than I had thought so probably won't be going that route.
I'm ready to get back out on the road and hope to be in orientation by next week. Will keep updating with my findings.Chinatown and Slowmover1 Thank this. -
I think Tyson has driver facing cameras. The guys I know that run for them act like they are very careful to keep an eye on you and won't tolerate much. One man got stuck at a chicken barn by running off the gravel a bit. I heard he was probably going to lose his job. Idk just stuff i've heard...
Poacher Thanks this.
