So I'm brand new to trucking. In fact, I'm currently a permit holder. So far, I've been pretty good at it, no complaints from my trainer. But today...
I ran the red light at the weigh station. Admittedly, I wasn't paying as close attention as I should have been. So by the time I realized it was a red light, I stopped. Just a little too late, as I was under the light. I'm not sure if it was photo enforced or not. I was wondering how that could affect me getting my CDL license, or future CDL jobs should I get fired/disqualified from the program.
Appreciate you guys for taking the time to read, and comment.

Oh my God, you are dead meat.
What happened after you "ran the red light" ?
When you are directed to the static scale in states where you either get bypass or stop on scale, you should be going very slowly on approach to the plate and be ready for it to switch to red so you can stop right on it. You should also release your brakes then just gently push them, just enough to hold you steady, so it can get an accurate weight, once you get the axle(s) where they're supposed to be on the scale. -
you're fine.......if they didn't run you down, you're fine.
pay closer attention next time, though. Weigh stations are the wrong place to be spacing out.buddyd157, REO6205, Hunter1212 and 2 others Thank this. -
You need to pay real good attention as in **SLAPS WAKE THE &^%$ UP!!!** ATTENTION! At the scales.
So you ran a little light, fine big deal this time. Don't do it again. Seriously. Always anticipate that you will be directed either around back or onto the platform or both. You are on Mr DOT's porch now.
I would be the last one to look at holier than thou on Mr Scales. Ive done everything ranging from destroying a scale all the way to being rundown and put on platforms which I really hate.
I'll stop here before I pick on Louisiana or Vicksburg all over again. They aint BAAD but we do not do well together. =)Hunter1212 Thanks this. -

Some of the NC scales are good at waiting until the last second to hit the red. They have signs up saying "no hard braking on scale" but wait until you are about to go with throttle up to flip it red. If you were in trouble, you would have heard them over the PA, or the Super Trooper would have walked out and paid you a visit while you sat there on HIS scale

Your picture is now posted at every scale house from Maine to California. You will get Level 1 inspection from now to kingdom come. And you will be barred from every Subway place in the US.
