As the title states. Is there anything other than the normal businessey stuff happening? I'm noticing more and more of a certain local carrier pulling USF Holland trailers around Chicago. Maybe all their drivers took sick time or are having some other dispute, not sure. Does anyone have any information on why I've seen this the past 3ish weeks? Just curious.
Thanks in advance!

Hi Badcable, I think you'll see more and more of this. I have a friend that works for a company that routinely hauls ABF freight in their own trailers to Ohio. They said once it was an ABF trailer, but must have run into some trouble, and now it's in their own wagons. They said, ABF can't find drivers, and began to farm the freight out.Badcable Thanks this.

Wow, they do have the driver advertising signs on the roll-up doors, but I didn't think it was that bad. I'm not sure if Wheeling covers Elk Grove Village or another terminal, but apparently they're hurting for drivers around here. Solid answer, thanks!

Drivers are in high demand ,here in Detroit ,Chrysler begging for drivers ,working 7 days a week ,

My carrier is seriously hurting for P&D drivers in Tacoma and Seattle. Last I heard they were paying an outside contractor $98/hour to deliver their freight. Finding qualified help seems to be a premium these days.

yep, its a drivers market, all the good jobs are hiring right now...

Here at USF Reddaway using outside carriers nightly using their own trailers. Heard were paying 2.00 a mile. Probably 2 Linehaul drivers a night short or more. City is short handed big time too. Too much competition but the other LTL's can't find drivers either, Saia has a 5k sign on bonus here. Conway Freight has a sign on their front lawn. Lol.
