Hi to all the Mavericks on this thread!
My application with Maverick was to be submitted to the Approval Committee last Friday. How long does it usually take to get a decision out of that Committee? BTW, I will be in the Glass Division, assuming making it through all of the training.
Thanks for your feedback! -
I guess that dedicated job is still working sweet for you. Take care old-timer I miss seeing you around. Maverick lost a good driver when you left. -

I just have one more piece of paperwork to fax to Courtney & all my app stuff will be complete w/Maverick. I've been going back & forth considering dry van or flatbed for a while now. Early on I was sort of leaning flatbed but really had no clue. (With only 2 weeks of CDL school behind me, I suppose I still really don't!
)
Be that as it may, the more I've read by flatbedders, in spite of some of the really negative comments of guys who've done flatbed & obviously hated it, I really think it's definitely the way to go for me. I've looked into several different companies, with the top 3 having been McElroy, Maverick, & Roehl's flatbed division. There doesn't seem to be very many McElroy guys/gals commenting about their experiences with their company. I started a thread asking for a comparison of McElroy & Maverick, but got only one response that had nothing to do with either company. lol Roehl's flatbed seems fine, but terminal location might be an issue for me. We plan on moving to the Huntsville, AL area (my bride's mom lives there, & it'd be good for Kate to be near her while I'm out on the road). See Mav trucks thru there a good bit, plus, in talking with Courtney, such a move wouldn't be an issue. Also, Roehl's home time doesn't seem quite as good as Maverick's.
I want to thank all you Maverick guy's for all your input/info on your experiences with your company, particularly jxu417 who's been answering a lot of questions for me thru PM. Unless something I don't anticipate happens, Maverick is where I'll end up. Just seems like the type of place I want to be.
Two more weeks of school, both out on the road. Graduation is Feb 1st. Hopefully I'll be headed to N. Little Rock shortly thereafter. Just get that last letter faxed & wait to hear something positive from Mav!

Good luck with finishing CDL school and getting your license, and then also with the entire application process with Maverick. You are making a good decision IMO. Focus intently on your upcoming goals (in order), and I am sure that we will see your posts as Newbie Maverick Flatbedder soon.

"Focus intently on your upcoming goals (in order),..."
Great advice, & that's what I've been really trying to do. Had thought about studying for my HazMat & tanker endorsement tests (I know...not required at Maverick, but one never knows what the future could hold; might as well go ahead & get 'em), but decided to hold back till I had my pre-trip inspection stuff down cold! After all, don't do that right, don't pass the CDL test. One step correctly at a time, eh? loljxu417 Thanks this. -
Well got great news from Mason the other day that every thing checked out well and I will be invited to orientation as soon as I have my CDL in hand! I start driving at school on Tuesday and test on the 18th. Someone hit the FF button please!
