I was talking to a Prime driver a few days ago in Allentown. She says Prime just recently set their Qualcomm's to not allow any "moving around grace distance/time".

I'm on eLogs and like that where I'm at, that they don't have them "cranked down real tight". If they do that, I will probably have to walk and leave the industry or find a small gravel outfit or something that doesn't deal with eLogs. I can deal with eLogs as long as reasonable moves can be made in reasonable times without screwing you up but losing the little bit of flexibility that I currently have would be a deal-breaker.

That's so stupid. Technically if you're driving around in a company property or a truck stop, it's on duty till you hit the public road. Yard jockeys would have a hell of a coloring book if it happen

Unplug the box.. watch it scream at you when plugged back in. It'll wanna know why odometer and fuel consumption no longer match. .

That's what the rand McNally units do anyways.

Were talking about QC not rand. If you unplug qc, you will only get trailer disconnect alert and that is only if you have trailertracs on trailer. That can be explained if asked about it. Especially if your under a priority load. There is always a way around things. How do you know rand screams at you if you unplug? Experimenting pehaps?

Technically, your not being compensated for moving in yards so why even be onduty?

We used to be able to move while in sleeper mode 1.2 miles then you would have to stop set brake and turn ignition off and that resets timer. Then you can go another 1.2 miles. Took me like 45 minutes to go 5 miles. They did something to system and you cant do it anymore. They caught on to it

It's not a matter of Driving Vs On Duty, it's a matter of being forced off of sleeper berth [or off duty] to move to a door. This starts your clock perhaps 2-3 hours earlier then need be in some cases meaning you don't get to where you needed to get on the other end of the "work day", putting you off for the next day, and so on, and so on.

It seems carriers are actively looking for ways to cut their production ability, and require more drivers to move the same amount of freight (less money for all drivers) ... or DOT safety auditors are just being difficult and looking for "irregularities"

It may be part of the government's and corporation's plan to wipe out the working class so broke people will be on welfare and the inherited rich will remain in power forever.

Werner did it. I'm on light duty right now. When I get back, I will check it out. If I don't like it, I turn in my keys and go home driving dump or trash. The distribution center in Windsor is huge. They can piss off with that. I'll pull in yard, drop trailer, and make the yard jockeys pull next trailer right to my truck. The government told omnitrac to change it. It's ########
