Your best option is to get routed into the terminal and rent a car. If you chose to drive to your house without authorization, you're choosing to harm yourself.

First off, in orientation you signed a form agreeing to pay for any unauthorized movement and/or truck recovery. This is a gray area and often not enforced, but if it is you're looking at $200-500 being withheld from your last check. If you can't afford a rental car, you can't afford that either.

Next, you'll be flagged with truck abandonment, which will make it very difficult to get a decent job.

And for the record, except for fueling off duty you were not coerced. You just didn't know how to do the job yet and suffered for poor choices/communication like telling Swift you're quitting on a Saturday afternoon and expecting a fast response.

I called him out on it an still remained in on duty.. Thing is that, even after obtaining a CDL there are many new learning lessons that aren't covered in training, and you can bet any new CDL OTR driver is going to have questions later on they were completely blind too..
Yes I called the terminal lead to explain an that I wasn't getting along with this guy, and his exact words were it would be the same thing with any other mentor. I took his advice on it and moved forward till the required time with the mentor done. I
could not drop the trailer at the location of the stop. Also had to have approval from management at that tiny truck stop to park in the area, not really designated for 53 ft trailers. The reason I was running late wasn't my falt, and the company was notified of the situation. Also had to be off duty shortly after stopping so I wouldn't be in violation of the HOS clock. The load was removed from my dispatch on the HOS as well as a late notification of re-powered and had an argument with the fleet manager about not dropping to load, then afterwards it was back on ma screen. Anyways this is far off the topic and I'll just wait till morning. I feel like some of the replies here have a reply like a twisted CNN news channel, geesh

You can be on duty after the end of the 14 and 70, you just can't drive past it.

Now....your first #### up was telling them that you wanted to quit. Now they control your destiny. Its weekend dispatch, the baby sitters of the company. Nothing is probably gonna happen til Monday at the earliest. In the future, don't tell a company that you're going to quit. Request hometime first and get your stuff out of there. Then you tell them you want to quit. You'll probably have to wait till Monday morning call your terminal and follow their instructions. Dont move their truck or do anything til you talk to somebody, and don't leave the truck where it's at because you'll #### your career up.
