I'm sorry, maybe it's me. I'm not following.
When I worked for Knight (end of 2007- beginning of 2008 ) the trucks would NOT idle longer than 5 minutes. The computer was set up to make the truck "capable" of idle'n in temperatures greater than 75, and lower than 35 HOWEVER, every single driver I ran into (and I met a LOT) said theirs worked as well as mine----it didn't.

    Did they rectify this issue?

I used to chock my tires, set the trailer brake only, set a boot behind the throtle foot-feet, and a water jug on the throtle foot-feet to trick the computer into thinking I was on the move. That is the ONLY way I could idle more than 5 minutes in ANY temperature.

    Did they rectify this issue?

Don't bother with the swamp cooler. They are for areas with dry climates only. Use one near the Gulf Coast and you'll wake up soaking wet. Your better off just finding a company that doesn't place ridiculous restrictions on a driver getting a decent nights rest.

White Dog they are more than likely lieing or they simply disconnected the temp sensor enabling the truck to idle as much as they want. Keep in mind the more you idle the slower their truck goes. Knights run in a manor to create turnover so they can make a killing on those last minute-rescheduled-90 mile loads that pay the driver $12.00 bucks for 8 hours work.

Let us know how much of that $54 dollars actually ends up in your bank account.

I was actually kidding. I never got anything that was promised to me $$wise$$. "Oh sure I'll get you something" then when you call them out "I put it in the computer" Ah just a pain always chasing a dollar here and a dollar there. Hope you have better luck.

All I can tell you is that every truck I've ever driven at Knight will idle if it's over 75. Just have to watch for the shut down warning and give it some throttle. My current pete will idle at any temp if you just turn on the cruise and put it into fast idle.
