My state book (NJ)says that all commercial drivers are required to stop at a rail road grade crossing when driving a commercial vehicle. I have never seen a tractor trailer stop at train crossings? I ask because I have a road test coming up and there are railroad crossings involved, should I come to a stop or just slow down and check? Oh and the tracks we are crossing are not in service but it is not posted. Thanks![]()

If it's a uncontrolled crossing maybe err on the side of caution and do a quick stop.. With all these trucks hitting trains lately you never know if that's what they are checking for
