Speaking of walmart all ltl drivers that deliver there will share my frustration with this. You get there ring the bell wait 5-10 mins then ring again. Rinse and repeat. You can hear them behind the door but no response. I know they're under staffed but a quick shout that they'll be right with you would be great. Also, every walmart i go to has only one receiving clerk that knows the process to check your stuff in, even the most of the managers don't know how to do it!

Well, I think what you have there is a locked door, only one person having the key to it, and that one person is having lunch.

Nope! They're just too busy and under staffed. Or they don't have the key and they don't want to call a manger to unlock the door. Or they're on a power trip.

Having a massive political protest tomorrow in downtown Columbia SC. I won't point fingers or say names, but the event is big enough for most of the local areas to suspend P&D services.

I hate to be a Debbie Downer on a Wednesday, but my company has suffered a workplace fatality. They would not release any details to us other than it happened late at night or early in the morning and that it was a dock worker that was either run over or crushed to death by a forklift.

For all of you guys on dock only or dock/driver combo shifts, this accident happened in a split of a second. It's so easy to get complacent and get tunnel vision when you handle hundreds of bills shift after shift, but incidents like this are a stark reminder on how dangerous our job can be.

    Be safe out there guys.

Some lady tried stealing one of our trucks out of the yard. Driver had started it and ran into the office to grab some paperwork before hooking up, lady ran up, jumped in and tried to take off in it. Didn't know how to release the brakes, so she was dragging it at like 5mph while one of the dispatcher s followed her. She got around the block and pulled into a parking lot right as police swarmed her at gunpoint, they dragged her out and threw her face down onto hot asphalt
I guess what she told the cops is she's part of antifa and the plan was to steal the truck, hide it somewhere, then someone who knows how to drive a truck was gonna pick it up, go back to the yard, steal some empties and drive it north to aid in their "operations".

Oooor..they could have filled out a Bill of Lading, and had their crap legally shipped. There isn't much that most carriers won't touch.

"Two pallets of bricks and one with spray paint? You better make sure that your consignee has a forklift handy or at least be willing to cover the liftgate charges".

Anyway, great story with a great ending.

    LOL

She could have at least google how to release brakes and don’t must trucks have GPS anyway?

Now idiot is facing bunch of charges... stealing, trespassing, driving CMV without CDL...

I believe that last charge you stated is a federal offense since operating a CMV on public roadways falls under the licensing requirements outlined somewhere in 49 CFR Part 383.

Anyway, this whole "operation" was destined to fail. For one, she probably thought the thing drives like an oversized U-haul (not trying to give advice to would-be rioters but renting one would be a more feasible option than stealing a Class 8 truck). For the other, assuming she knew what she was doing, most fleet trucks are governed out at 67 or below, and yes there are some that run faster. But my point being that even a truck bobtailing is not the most practical evasion vehicle. You could literally ride along side of it and shoot just one air tank and now you are stuck inside a 10 ton paperweight.

This whole heist is so half baked it could only have been conceived by one of those antifa morons. They should have just let her go, just to see how far she could have gone with locked up brakes.
