That’s what I typically do but I didn’t this time. Probably could of lied about it but my job isn’t worth a D&H in case someone looks into it for whatever reason. Was a good paying night at 590 miles tho.

With YRC, I think it's esoteric to their barn. I have yet to see a driver down here wearing one.
I personally don't care. It's one extra layer that protects my clothes from getting spoiled at work. Functionality wise, it's like wearing a life vest on the Titanic. It really doesn't do much to prevent you from getting killed, but it marks your spot when they have to find you.LoneCowboy, Cardfan89 and misterG Thank this. -
I miss the days of not having to wear those vests. I think my uniform looks nice, and throwing a Playskool yellow vest over it ruins it. Meh.

That 68 hour week I had a couple weeks ago? Well, that meant a gross of about $2100, and the taxman raped me for about $750 of that.Cardfan89 and road_runner Thank this. -

Why go into another terminal if you don't even have any freight for them?Wasted Thyme Thanks this. -
Generally the terminal requesting the via gives Central a request that they need the via and Central will set it up on the driver. This request is done while the terminal is underway with their outbound loading, so they make the request if they think they are going to need more transport capacity than they have. The disconnect here, is that terminals get caught up in their mountain of other crap that they have to do, and forget to cancel the via with central if they don't actually exceed the amount of trailers needed for freight like they thought they were going to. Otherwise, had the terminal gone over into an additional trailer/s, the terminal would have just assigned the load on incoming driver's next trip in place of the empty/empties he dragged with him.
The whole dragging empties to another terminal is a byproduct of FXF wanting ALL freight to run through a breakbulk at some point into the linehaul network for dimensioning and weighing. No freight in the FXF system to my knowledge runs service center to service center, it will go through a breakbulk hub at some point in the network.speedyk, The Shadow, jmz and 2 others Thank this. -
And the higher ups are really pushing direct loads and head loads, so there is also a decent amount of freight that goes through hubs but doesn’t come off the trailer. I wouldn’t be surprised to start seeing dimensioners in the larger EOL barns that can fill trailers like that.McUzi Thanks this. -
But, even if you know a few examples, I’m sure they are so few and far between across the entire network.jmz Thanks this.
