We're holding steady at the Fridley FAC. As busy as 1 month ago? No, but steady all the same.

I tried that before with garbage freight that goes to garbage locations. It doesn’t work.

Has everyone noticed how slow a lot of trucks are driving? I know diesel is expensive but are they really saving money by driving 55-60mph when speed limit Is 65?

I do believe that you can get close to an additional mile to a gallon when you keep it around 55 mph vs 65.

I am also sure that this is the rational that PRIME used to keep their obnoxious mobile roadblocks going so slow for the longest time.

BTW, our trucks are governed at 62. I've yet to pass someone that isn't broke down.

    Farva and misterG Thank this.

I think you’re right about that, but I’m still not going to hold everybody up on a 65 mph freeway just to milk fuel economy. There’s a point where you become a road hazard.

Lost all my trailer lights on the way to the hub last night, except one marker light. I was only 5 miles away when they went out so I just drove it straight to the shop. Turns out the lead trailer was fried and it was a brand spanking new trailer. There’s my Friday the 13th story lol.

I'm stupid busy right now. For several reasons.
I'm in an area of the upper Midwest that's now seeing its freight break through from the ongoing ports disaster.
Compounded by two major regional carriers merging, Dayton and Valley Cartage. Customers are leaving Dayton in droves, for various and sundry reasons.

This has lead to many of my other interline partner carriers taking on more freight as well as getting more direct freight from existing customers. As well as new customers.
