Unless they are flush on the floor, I would try to find something to give you leverage and raise it up a bit to get the tip of the pallet under. Then elevate some more by placing some form of dunnage underneath the bottom most point. Crowbars or anything long and sturdy should give you a physical advantage to get your load over your jack.

Well, that sucks! Can you get a chain on them and slide them to the back by pulling the chain, (or a rope if one is strong enough,) with a fork lift? I've had to do that many a time.

Good job on the improvising and good on the previous vendor for helping. Plenty of By the book folks out their wouldn't touch others crap in that situation.

I'd do what bigdon said for the next time. carry a rope or a chain.

I carry a (purple, easily identifiable it's mine ) 100 foot high strength nylon rope. Double it up can pull 1100 pounds in theory, hasn't broke yet

One thing I learned to do, was take a quick look while at stop A, at what I was going to have to deal with at stop B. I've had a lot of guys with fork lifts move pallets to the back for me. But then for the most part, most of my customers were decent folks. The few exceptions, I wouldn't have asked them for anything, nor would I have given them anything, other than the required service.

Here's my rant. After being begged to do Saturday line haul as no one wants to, I decide to be the nice guy(and save money for my trip next weekend) and I call in this morning and dispatch tells me that they had 8 guys sign up me being the bottom. All I can say is since when does everyone want to work lol. Called the guy who trained me and he said they said the same to him.

Supposed to go to PA next weekend for the truck show, but of course everything changes Last minute (especially with my dad planning it all). It's a long drive and hopefully the gf will still want to go lol.

This. If you know your customers and they like you, they'll help when you need it. I've had to ask a customer once to practically rework my trailer (two very early closers in the nose) and he was cool and helped.

Yea I wish my route had mor dock stops lol. One of my regular pickups if I tell them to turn the skids so I got room they normally do it no problem. One of my co-workers has a stop where they will rearrange his whole trailer to fit the pickup on. Although a lot of my regulars all know me on a first name basis. One place I don't even have to show id anymore. They got me on file and when they see the truck they already got my sticker with my name printed out lol

Piggy backing what you said, When I'm working the dock. OTR driver has our product in the nose or mid trailer, I ask s/he if they want to rework the load. 9/10 times have a smile ear to ear. Only 5-15 minutes of my time. Those multiple stops OTR drivers could earn some extra cash in pocket or go home to beat the kids :biggrin_25523:. I don't care moving others product.
I won't mention the vendor, These folks would shut me down in a heartbeat. by the book F*** heads. Some days just want to boot out the forklift guy and do it myself. Not a picky person, but this particular pickup always annoys me.:biggrin_2551:
