I detest the flagrant lack of integrity so often displayed by the so-called “drivers” in this job.
No wonder “door slammers” get referred to with derision.surf_avenue, ‘Olhand, Lumper Humper and 2 others Thank this. -
Being bottom ##### on the extra board SUCKS. I’m determined to push through though. Please pray for me anyways.
gentleroger and road_runner Thank this. -
Being a yard hostler man is amazing.
My only complaints is night shift, and the initial rush to throw all the trailers into a door.
I’m still learning the hostler, but this thing does donuts like crazy.Cardfan89, road_runner, jmz and 3 others Thank this. -
Rough day on Friday. 3 deliveries and 3 pick ups, then a swap. If only I had me some seniority. Sure beats 12 lift gate deliveries lol.
jmz and Lumper Humper Thank this. -
This was my Friday adventure….. Took the forklift to pull and lower while i lowered it on my lift gate. Only took 45 minutes to unload. No damage, or anything to it, so we called it a victory.
It’s a roof top AC unit. 2,578lbs.Attached Files:

I’m well familiar with that manuever.
The big question I have is how did you move it and is it heavier on one side vs the other.Lumper Humper, Gearjammin' Penguin and hotrod1653 Thank this. -
We moved it very slowly. It was the same weight all the way around, thankfully. The forklift barely held it, and my lift gate was creaking pretty bad, we didn’t have anything else to use as a backup in case we couldn’t get it off the trailer the way we did.
I was thinking that they’d at least have a “catch” forklift in case, but they only have the one. The owner of the business said we got extremely lucky, and he’s gonna have a rotator on stand by for the next one.Lumper Humper and MACK E-6 Thank this. -
Well, most importantly how’d you get it to the back?
Was one end heavier than the other?hotrod1653 Thanks this. -
