That will be you in 30-40 years kid! That's what that union, institutional, LTL does to a driver! No life, not enough money to retire, and too my much local driving BS! Thanks, but no thanks! Im off to FL in 5 years or so! The old lady can retire with her pention at 62 from Huntington Hosp in 5yrs. I got a few gas hauling jobs lined up down there!I got a 5 year plan! Ha ha

Lol I'll be lucky to make it to 40, yet alone another 30 years. I'm guessing you went to island trans, I believe they offer pensions. I'm im process of hopefully being hired for the town. Pays better, and hours are 7-3:30. I'm keeping my word that if I get another job it's not in trucking. As much as I like doing it, this would be better long term

No I worked for Island Transport last year. They dont have a pension and the hours sucked! Ha Ha 3:30-3:30am! The two companies I looked into in Florida are Penn Tank lines, and another one I forget now off the top of my head! Town job, eh? Nice! Good luck kid! I hear the County pays good too!!1

Penn tank lines is questionable. Always advertising for a driver. Noticed they have a marathon/exxon account. Crazydyude have any idea on starting pay ?

Yea that's why I never went to their interview at island. Weird days and hours. Their was a company in Newburgh I applied to a while back when I lived up there, only worked 4 12'hour days a week, started at 28 a hour full pension and union benefits. Originally I was gonna take that before leaving yrc, but then realized I was leaving yrc to return home.

btw glad you took my overtime the other day. Got called to run Linehaul yesterday. From home to Elizabeth no, to Springfield MA, back to Liz, then back home. 460 miles. Traffic wasn't terrible, except going over the throgs neck. Right after the tolls they close it down to one lane, no one helping organize it. Talk about a huge cluster ####. Saw 5 accidents in 20 minutes of every person in a rush. Once I got past the area where it turned into one lane, I saw a accident in my mirror shutting down the bridge.

also our automatic trucks have no power what so ever

Those automatics still drop in RPM before a up shift? Last time drove a automatic was several years ago, The reverse was really flaky with full load and used two feet backing up a slight grade. It wanted to roll forward on a slight incline. Making small adjustments for stopping/ steering was PITA.
