    OK, rather than "b***" about it, here is how to handle this. When it happens, make a note of it. EVERY TIME it happens. After a few weeks, take your notes and go to your supervisor with the situation. If you can show documented incidents of this happening, I'll bet your super WILL take some type of action on it. Just make sure that your documenting of it is accurate, and is done at the time it occurs. Show date, time you were at the customer the first time, the time you were notified of the pickup, name of dispatcher, and who you talked to at the customer when you returned to make the pickup, and the time they say they called it in.

    You will have one of two things happen. You will either see that it is not happening as often as you think, or you will have proof that it is happening too often.

    Another thought is what is your employment situation? If you are being paid by the hour, you really don't have too much to gripe about. But if you are using your own vehicle, or if you are not paid by the hour, you may have a very valid complaint.

    Well, bids just got done for NEMF, I'm off the turnpike runs and on a Newburgh turn that never is. Second leg will probably be Long Island most nights.

    Edit: On the plus side, I won't have Con-Way drivers telling me I'm #1 as they blow through our red light.

    You guys need some better rants.

    How about? :
    1) Yard hoslers! Who are always mad that you won't put your pups in doors after a 14 hour night line run through a blizzard, even though it's HIS job to do that! OR a hostler that keeps double and triple parking loaded trailers, never in order, knowing you're gonna miss your gate time because of him. Yeah, that hostler needed a good attitude adjustment.

    2) Fleet managers who don't care that the road closed, and you spent most of the night laid across the front seats with your wet socks and gloves hanging on the steering wheel to dry too close to your nose. They just want to know why they didn't get their guaranteed freight in on time.

    3) Corporate doesn't want to pay you but for chaining up 3 times a night, even though you had to 6 times. Then they wonder why you are burning up their chains between the passes.

    4) P&D drivers using your linehaul truck because their junk is always in the shop. If your truck is even back for your run on time, it's trashed, your mirrors are out of wack, and it needs to be refueled and windshield cleaned again.

    5) That POS '03 Columbia you were assigned to burned to the ground over the weekend with over $400 of your stuff in it. Of course the TM promises to reimburse you, but never does.

    6) Other line drivers who pick through all the con gear and leave you with the junk ones that should have been taken to the shop for work. Or leave you with none useable, and you have to wait, without pay, until one comes in the yard.

    7) Corporate decided to program all line trucks to shutoff after 5min of idle time. Now you freeze when the road in closed for high winds or snow.

    8) Wyoming DOT is on banker's hours when comes to salting I-80, so you get to play on black ice in 50mph crosswinds with empty doubles.

    I can pretty much relate to all of it. I went through four chains last year. Montana's DOT has enough money to run all the scales 24 hours a day, but they can't afford to put more than three plows on the road to cover a a 400 mile stretch of interstate.

    So one of our passes hit -40 degrees. I did not install a winter front, and I think my fuel pump was on the verge of taking a crap on me.

    Another thing I noticed my jakebrake didn't work at all. Maybe I need some new engine brake pads. Someone told me they keep them in the same isle as blinker fluid. Having a hard time finding either. Any suggestions?
