It is nice to have somebody else pay attention to your truck. I pulled into one of our docks, (not my home one,) and a driver there told me "you need to get that manifold leak fixed!
Since I'm hard of hearing, and I expect it was gradually getting worse, I didn't notice it. Obviously I missed it on my inspections.

I dont mind sliping when i have to, but its a wake up when you grab a truck with no jake installed, and of cource its not untill the first red light that you "remember" what truck your in :)

Continuing to peddle with ABF and not jumping ship afterall . Our barn really needs help. Excessive OT is not fun and neither is new folks quitting after doing some basic fingerprinting and reality check will be multi-stops in/near the city bumping docks and interacting with people:rolleyes:

A waste of everyone's time involved! What happened to researching a company and the details of that job? This isn't bump 2 dock doors a week. I'll never understand others.

Some drivers are so anxious to get out of OTR and into a local job, that they don't bother to look at ANYTHING else. Often times it has a lot to do with the pushing, whining, sniveling and screaming from their spouse/SO.

Sadly it affects others in a indirect way, Spot the heck on with that assessment. Glad, I'm not married, trapped in that situation of blindly accepting a job.

Clarify: To be politically correct, Many clueless qualified drivers wildly throwing out their applications and accept what ever sticks on the wall without any help from a S/O

Still pissed, A middle aged fella went out with a few us this past week, I Let him drive knew what he was doing, had common sense. Then we had 2 skids of play sand delivering to a landscape business. He turned into a little kid refused to touch the pallet jack. Dude pull 1 skid 20 feet set in front the garage and I'll get the other skid. Refused to do that. Called up the TM in front of this guy and said bringing him back and not working with him. I hope he isn't with us thursday.

We all know ABF isn't a training company in traditional terms. Was warned, He might be flaky and gave the benefit of the doubt. Screw it, I'm not a trainer neither is anyone else. This fella lost a great future compared to previous jobs of doing roofing with a small company happened to have a CDL.

There is so much stupid crap to deal with in P&D. So the guy whined about not wanting to use a pallet jack? Geez... Better to get rid of him now before he ends up with 800+ lbs pallet that won't fit a standard jack. Did everyone ever get one of those? The only way to move it is by placing one tine as close as possible to the middle while the other one is halfway up in the air... All while dragging the opposite side of the pallet.

I get that almost on a daily basis. Never understood why the pallets were designed that way

When good lift gates go bad, lol. On delivery number two...my lift gate froze in the down position. I'm sitting here waiting on the mechanic at the moment.
