May as well bump this one with today's story.

The office idiots decided to send 17 skids of wire out with a fake appointment to a place the refused a similar delivery two days ago, and this one got refused of course. It was two bills, so two returns.

I had to go 20 miles away to our interline partner, with plans to unload this crap there, only to find out that they had four outbound bills. So they had to unload the refusals,AND the rest of the deliveries, reload the the refusals, load their outbounds, and then reload the deliveries. That cost me two hours, on top of leaving forty-five minutes late as it was. That delay wound up leading to three more returns, two of which I didn't even bother going to.

And on top of all that, the knucklehead I have for a dispatcher thought I was going to make it back to the area in which I STARTED by 4:30 to pick up oversize freight from some junk yard that "must pick up today".

Nope, didn't happen. Don't care either. Let them call somebody else to haul their garbage.

Oh how I hated dealing with junk yards. Always a fight because they just don't understand that you aren't gonna load an oil leaking greasy old engine that is half-way wired to a pallet. Then there is always the "weight" argument. There was one in particular in Cedar City that was a constant pain. It always had to "go today," but would it ever be READY to go when I got there? Not hardly.

I think, (I HOPE,) I pissed them off badly enough to call another carrier. F 'em!

I can just see all the carriers arguing amongst themselves like kids on a playground.
    "You take it!"
    "No, YOU take it!"

    My pallet jack broke yesterday.

Oh well, paid by the hour to wait for another driver in the area to meet me and swap. Rant over. Nevermind.

I'd like someone to really put R&L Carriers to their testaments of "We ship anything, anywhere, anytime."

They once forgot to load my pallet jack, condom, and handcart. I was 55 miles away from the barn and now starting my 19 stop trip with no tools. I ended up borrowing a jack from a customer.

It pays to be friendly with the people you deliver to.

No doubt. Unfortunately I had some liftgate deliveries to places with nothing, so I woulda been screwed without that backup jack in the neighborhood.
