No kidding, we have a couple customers who used to get inside delivery from another carrier.
Then they got greedy and went with a less expensive carrier (us).
And now they are screaming that we don't do inside delivery! Unless its been paid for and is listed on the BOL. Imagine, wanting to be paid for doing your job! The horror.

Yeah... the inside delivery dilemma... Most of us LTL guys are curbside only. I've dealt with so many customers (even regulars) that want their crap broken down and brought inside. I politely remind them that they will be billed an additional inside delivery fee. Some guys freak and decline that additional service charge... Some are more persistent until I ask them for their first and last name.

"Why do you need my full name?"

    - So I have a reference of the employee that authorized the inside delivery charge in case your boss/owner wants to dispute it.

"Oh... nevermind, I think I can take care of the freight myself".

    End of story

Don't forget the old "can you take the pallet back" bit.

The line gets drawn at that one.

I took a brand-new pallet jack out on its maiden voyage on Friday. It rolled so smoothly, truly a joy to use. I had a smile on my face every time I used it and showed it off to jealous receivers at all of my stops. It capped off my week perfectly.

Oh wait: this is the "rants" thread. Never mind.

Going into a residential area and parking in the street and delivering the load with a lift gate and rolling it up the drive way. Called curb side because your parked next to the curb. LTL guys go into residential areas a bit.

This is an example of a curbside delivery. I don't know this You Tube channel, but it's a residential delivery.

Did anyone else wonder why he did not load the hand truck , instead on carrying them in one at a time?
