I watched one of the linehaul drones come in with yet another 53 footer with axles slid all the way back. :banghead:

    Idiots....

Granted, there are many linehaul drivers with a brain, but this guy is one of the "I'll leave my used chicken bones on the floor because it's dark and I can't find them" steering wheel holders that we can do without.

    carl320 and Mike2633 Thank this.

I'll tell you what one time and one time only I pulled one of our 50ft with the wheels slid all the way to the back, never again talk about a pain cornering I'm not to proud I don't care if the shop has to knock the pins lose and help me slide the wheels forward I didn't care for it having those wheels all the way to the back. I know there moved to the back for loading purposes, but it's to much bridge for the city.

I had almost forgot that I had that nightmare delivery once, to a house on Lake Michigan on a one lane road. Had to break down both skids and walk individual pieces to the back of the trailer.

Fortunately I only had to get them to the back. The guys accepting the delivery had to walk them down to the house from the road :|

Hah. We had one like that too. 3k lbs skid of wood. All going to a mountain side residential 1 hour outside of town. The pallet was too large for a lift gate and we assumed there was no forklift or boom lift on site.

They had me try to pawn it off to our interline carrier NPT. The guy looked at the address, then at the freight... He gave me back the DR and said:. Nice try... Not accepting this. Do me a favour and tell your dispatcher that you guys can haul your own garbage.

    carl320, Mike2633 and MACK E-6 Thank this.

Seems to me that those daily tools are just the normal tools of the trade for local P&D.

carl320, road_runner, misterG and 2 others Thank this.

One of these years I am going to plan a trip out west not to like California I have no interest in that, but to Montana and Utah and just wander along the way. Hopefully I can meet Big Don and Road Runner one day. Utah has quite the scenery and I know where to find Road Runner I'll be waiting for him in that tent next to that converter dolly at that truck stop easypeasy.

road_runner, Bob Dobalina and Big Don Thank this.
