Makes it's tempting to go over... See if I'm single again lol. Chill out with a few beers and check out the bronco.
Actually mines a position for working on the tracks, signals blah blah blah. The trains we have are passengers which I really wouldn't want to engineer. I wouldn't mind freight but at the same time I'd like to be home every night with a more normal schedule. I can also change positions which is a huge plus

Just go to that college town and find some young drunk dumb girl. or some 400 pounder and who you kidding if some girl over 180 said shed blow you you would take it.
I applied to MTA shaggy. Looked into the cxs and Amtrak yards as well, no Norfolk southern by me. The state DOT is hiring by me as well, hours and days are better but pay is awful starting out. I can always return to towing cars and bartending part-time if needed on my time off. -

It seems to me that leaving UPS to go to a railroad would be like jumping from the frying pan into the fire. At least down here in the forty eight. Unless things have changed considerably in the past year or so, there is no railroad job other than the train crew, that is not being outsourced just as quickly as they can.
Now possibly to go to a train crew job might not be too bad. But I sure would take a good hard look before going to any other job with the railroad.
In fact, I was just informed this morning that an acquaintance was fired from a railroad because of having "too many injuries" that he reported. Of course they told him he could re-apply in a year or so. . . -
It wouldn't be for engineering, it would be for other stuff like maintence and repairs etc.

So a coworker (linedriver) came back from a 400 mile turn. He was told to go do some local P&D. He said "I can't, I am almost out of hours, if I go now, I won't be able to run tonight".
They told him to do it anyway.
Long story short, he had to tell the line dispatcher he couldn't run when his name came up. He received a Letter of Reprimand for running out of hours ...from the same guy that sent him on the P&D run. Not sure why he signed it... but I call complete bullspit on this one. -
