Holy crap.. got to drive a brand spanking new Peterbilt. It only had 2k miles on it. By comparison my usual company truck is a 1997 Freightliner on its third or fourth engine.

So I was so stoked until I got into the Pete. AUTOMATIC. Took me five minutes to figure out how to make it drive forward. Turns out you have to hit the break pedal to go from neutral to drive.

Whiiiiiiiiiinnnnnneeeeee *shift* whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnneeeeee *shift*. Whhhhhhhhiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnneeeeeeeeee *shift* whiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiinnnnnnnneeeeee *shift"

    Woohoo. 0 to 60 in 4.5 minutes.

Thanks Reddaway. You took a killer truck and cut its balls off.

That sounds like a rear end collision waiting to happen.

Proves what I have said often, having blindl brand loyalty is silly. Just because it has a red oval on it does not make it a good truck. We have all met people , "get a good truck , buy a Pete". Now you know it was a foolish statement. Most manufactures can make a good truck , as long as it is speced correctly for its job.

Could be worse. You could be sitting on the side of the road with a failed carrier bearing like I am right now.
