Yes, I did think about that. But my future won't be with Reddaway regardless of what happens. If I don't get into the army, I will go somewhere else. Either way, I've saved up a bunch of money over the past two years and I want to take the summer off and spend some time with my wife who I've neglected due to my long hours. Go do all the fun stuff that everyone around me is doing. Maybe give her a honeymoon that we missed out on two years ago.
One of my co-workers is a friend of mine and I confided with him several times. He is a part time pastor and even though I am not religious, he gave me some advice that made me wanna take the more honourable route.
He said "R/R, I know you are on the verge of quitting. I am almost there myself. I know you've been treated poorly and you have every right to be upset and want to work somewhere else. Before you quit, please consider the following:. The right thing to do is give a two week warning that you agreed to when you got hired on. I understand that the people above us lack on any type of morals. But just because they fall back on their morals, that doesn't mean you have to fall back on yours. They'll regret losing a driver enough as it is. Don't be bitter and angry with them as you depart. You are a better person inside than spewing out all that anger. You have got to let that go."
People say I give good advice. I truly only try to convey stuff that was given to me by others. This is one of those non driving things that is worth bringing up, cause I think he is right. All that hate and anger will eventually eat me up. Even more so if I don't leave.

When I left my last job , I had a two hour sit down with the VP of the company. After ten years , let them know all their issues (respectfully) . In one ear and out the other . So they like the issues they have and love the people who cause them .
Big Don, Mike2633, misterG and 1 other person Thank this. -
You're just a mere driver who is given to complaining about what color the trucks are, so your credibility is nil.
Big Don, Mike2633 and road_runner Thank this. -
RR , can understand wanting to part ways on the best of terms, but if higher ups are not made aware of what is going on , it will transfer to the next guy.
road_runner Thanks this. -
We had one do that, he got canned the day it happened. Company has a zero tolerance policy for stuff like that.

You have to love addition by subtraction.

He got him self put on the do not rehire list, not that I think he was coming back, but they told me he would never work here again.misterG Thanks this.

AMEN to that! And my hat is off to both you and your friend. He gave some excellent advice. Now we both know that somebody is likely to come on here, with all kinds of reasons why you should have just walked off the job. Well, I don't have a problem with that, if that is what they do.
But it is not the "right" thing to do. Although, I have to admit to doing it once back in my younger and hotter tempered days.
In fact, if the clown had done what I told him to do, he'd still be walking funny today.Gearjammin' Penguin, misterG, Mike2633 and 3 others Thank this.
