Not sure on ANY of the above, just wanted to say haya to the FNG. :( sorry about your misfortunes, too.

Glad I am not the only one that is constantly getting screwed. The crap they expect of us is ridiculous. Residentials are the worst.

Well, howdy, Lrh. Sounds like you will fit right in here. I'm betting you can whine with the best of us!:D
Reference your residential deliveries...We were flatly prohibited by company policy, for even stepping inside a residence. We'd put it in the garage, or by the front stoop, or at the curb, but NEVER INSIDE. (Seems that the company wound up paying for a new carpet after a customer claimed we had ruined his.) My hat is off to that customer. He did us drivers a HUGE favor, and never even realized it!
My second or third day on the job. Preloaded trailer. Pulled into the consignee and we went to unload. Engine sitting on top of a radiator...I think I may have learned a few new words that morning...And of course, as far as the customer was concerned, it was my fault....

My company forbids going inside houses too,but every once in while some customer asks me to and I give them the spiel about policy and liability. One time some lady offered me a C note to drag her computer desk inside-told her thanks but no thanks-I kinda need the job!
I realize I am ranting about the bad side of LTL right now,but as far as trucking goes it is the best option. I tried OTR four years ago-#### that ####,never again. I like being out on my own driving the big truck and working a normal schedule. I drove concrete mixers for six years. Starting anywhere from 2100_0600 with start times changing each day sucks major donkey dong.

I'd've done it for a C'note, and a hand scribbled note releasing me of liability, LoL~! ;)

Being the low guy on the board at my very tiny yard can suck the high hard one at times. I don't like having to go to Kingman, being away from the wife and cats and driving around the stupid airpark in 110* heat.

But I didn't have to bring a tractor this time, they let me take my personal vehicle. So between mileage reimbursement and hourly pay, I'm making over fifty bucks an hour to ride my Harley. Could be worse...

Just watch your hydration! Heat exhaustion or even heat stroke, can sneak up on you very quickly on a scooter! Voice of experience here...

I know THAT for a fact. Ours here in Mansfield jerked me around for months; and only when I DID land my sweet tanker gig, did they call me for a "possible" 2nd interview. :( Ours here is full of "long timers" ... even though they advertise they are "hiring" most of the time.

    Mike2633 and J-Dub Thank this.
