As far as anything that might affect me is concerned, no. They moved a few routes from here to Archbold, which is fine because we are still short handed. Those Darden routes are being shuttled there from Columbus, I believe.
As far as equipment goes, all of our new trailers the last couple of years have had a delivery door on the left side, which I assume is to make them somewhat generic for both of us. We're supposed to get seventeen new ones this year at my dc, and they were originally spec'd with roll up back doors, which I assume is also to make them generic. Fortunately, someone had a reality attack and realized that doesn't work for us, and that got changed to swing doors. They are air ride, which is nice, but the suspension doesn't allow for a ramp carrier in the back. They have folding R.O.M. ramps, which are okay until you have to deliver a long johns with a back porch four feet off the ground. Hopefully they'll come up with a working solution before we get more.
Things are changing.

I just figured out an advantage to working nights.
I could care less if all the neighbors shoot off fireworks all night. I have to be up anyway. -

All of my neighbors just started a few minutes ago. I don't really care, since I've been up for 24 hours, minus an hour nap, and I had a couple Hop Stoopids.
Goodnight.Mike2633 Thanks this. -
Sitting two miles outside of town in my car drinking beer. Eight years after Iraq, fireworks still bother me. Ces't la vie

Alright today was better, then yesterday, I had more stops, but it just seemed to flow a lot better. I give today a B which is a letter grade and a half better then yesterday.
Light load today, but heavy on the stops had a few miles of driving as well. Today was my route number, but it was a hodgepodge of two routes it wasn't a big deal pretty smooth really over all.ZachG91 Thanks this. -
Ever had one of these customers that is not there, you leave them a door knocker (sorry I missed you note), then they call up frantically an hour later cause they need that piece of freight right then and now?
This happened several times to me. Usually I am on the opposite side of town pulling a completely different trailer.
Dispatch calls and says they need their freight and they need it now.
Well... Unless you want me to return all these other deliveries, they are gonna have to chill a minute. Me accommodating them will set me back over an hour.
My rule of thumb is to do my redeliveries at the end of the day after I deliver everything else and after I do all my pickups and take my lunch. Not gonna jump through hoops when other customers have their s### together.misterG, LoneCowboy, MACK E-6 and 2 others Thank this. -
Got to my fourth stop tonight, and there were about 7 burritos left sitting out bagged up. I figured they had left them out for me so I was gonna take them with me. I looked at the receipt and they were made around 6 p.m... around 7 hours before I found them. I couldn't bring myself to risk getting sick so that was a nice tease.
Mike2633 Thanks this.
