That tandem Dolley is mostly for turnpike doubles 2 48" so you can run 34k not 20k if it was a single axle dolley. Some states if you run that dolley on two pups can get you for a LCV permit if your length is longer.

Pushing a dolly while dragging a trailer with a yard goat. I actually rock at multitasking.

I think it's a turnpike dolly, with just the outer wheels mounted. I don't believe it's so specialized as to only accept one wheel per side. The question for me is why...it surely isn't for weight, since it's still only got 4 tires on it. They're not terribly popular with drivers, since you pretty much can't muscle them around and have to move them with the tractor. There's no logical reason you'd haul pups with this over a single axle dolly.
The only thing I can come up with is, "Hey, we've got these laying around. Let's single the axles out to remove a little weight and run 'em".Mike2633, LoneCowboy and ZachG91 Thank this. -
GFS for years on end from also bought drop axle tractors, they finally around 2005 just went straight to twin screws or in Florida single axles. But for a long time it was tandem axle pups with drop axle tractors and singe wheel 2 axle Dolly's, if that isn't a unique combination I do not know what is.G13Tomcat Thanks this. -
