Heard of Road Runner but never even seen one of their trucks. Must be a southern based company. Same thing with Estes. Their trailers end up in a MTS or ABF yard. But I have never seen an Estes truck

And north, I believe. Cuyahoga is Mike's way...! (Did you get Dayton Freight stickers yet?) Bob?!?

Alot of freight gets interlined. It is not uncommon to see a company pull a rival trailer in a state that isn't serviced by the company of origin.
I talked to several guys and they told me that they will do a dead drop of a rival company trailer for residential moves. The original company will get most of the profit. The interline carrier will get the final mile fee and drop/pick the trailer once the consignee unloads his furniture -
I wish I were accepted into 'yall's' world ten years ago, LoL~!
road_runner and Mike2633 Thank this. -
G13Tomcat Thanks this.

Not smarter than your average bear on here. Just more talkative. Anyone that has been in this field for more than 2 years can tell you the same thing as Mike and I have.
We open up about it to provide real life details of our jobs. Both good and bad.
I usually don't speak for others, but I am sure Mike would agree that if we can pass info to others that is beneficial to at least one person... Then it is worth sharing. -
G13Tomcat Thanks this.

@road_runner ditto on the snail mail address... -
We're nationwide, but we don't even have a terminal in his state. I'd be glad to send a couple.

Some idiot pulled out of a dock door without checking to see that the door was closed. I saw it happen. Yeah, packages all over the lot. lucky no one was inside the trailer. Apparently wasn't the first time this same guy has done this. "oh, he never looks, remember the one time so and so chased him down the parking lot dropping packages the whole way". (from another driver to the dispatcher)
Gawd, truckers are dumb. (no offense, but you know what i mean). I'm sure there will be a new rule tonight that will make it even more inefficient because this one idiot was too lazy to walk another 20 feet and check.
did have a revelation though. Got my hook slip for a short local. Finally find the trailer that is supposed to be tail and it's in a stupid place. It's going to take an hour to get the lead lined up and hooked with my big ### road tractor or literally drop and hook 3 or 4 different times to get them all lined up in some space. Check the weights. 14,000 and 12,000. I'm going 20 miles it's 9pm. Yeah, screw it, I"m hooking it the other way and going with it. And I did. Zing, I should do this more often if ti's not too far apart and not going very far. Way faster. (I'm not paid hourly)Mike2633 Thanks this.
