I still think those "blinds" that you "volunteered" to do somehow affected this, and it actually SHOULD be POSITIVE, since you did THEM a favor. ie: 2 points to the negative for whatever event, but 4 points to the positive, for the good deeds..... do the math! (When my wife was a restaurant manager, she instituted that system ... can't remember what it was called ... and the results were VERY motivational; they adopted it at her Bob Ev's.)

I dont carry BoL on me. I am rather patient about it and give customers a chance to get educated. Rather than ditching them, I make them log on to our website, go under the "forms" section where there are fillable PDF documents they can print out real fast. I'll shoulder surf and answer questions as they go along. Usually just a "To", "From", "item description", "weight", sign the bottom, make an extra copy of your BoL for a shipping lable type of deal. Takes them all but five minutes.
They learn the process, still ship the same day, plus they will have their crap together the next time they ship.Buckeye91, Bob Dobalina, Mike2633 and 1 other person Thank this. -
Yesterday I had the POS 48' liftgate trailer. The liftgate motor gave out after pre trip before I got to my first stop. I texted the terminal and we had a conversation about how the liftgate deliveries would get done; so they know the liftgate is kaput. At the end of the day I put a comment in the post trip on the tablet "liftgate does not work" and checked the "vehicle is unsatisfactory" box. I come in today and of course they loaded that same trailer for me. And one of my deliveries was a 2000 lb pallet liftgate delivery. WHAT PART OF "LIFTGATE DOES NOT WORK" DO THE MORONIC ### CLOWNS AT THE ####ING TERMINAL NOT ####ING UNDERSTAND? Luckily the place I delivered 2000 lbs of screws backed up his pickup to my trailer and I just handed him the boxes which he put in the bed. He also took the pallet and the wrapping material trash. If the receiver will not help I will not hand unload that much crap myself-back to the terminal the freight will go.

Lucky. They ask me if my liftgate broke down in the up or down position. Has nothing to do with my ability to move freight... More of the legality if I can move the trailer on public roadways.
Three weeks ago my liftgate failed. Had four pallets of coffee beans to download. 8.4K lbs of freight and no easy way to get them down.

Last time I had to sling coffee sacks they weighed a hell of a lot more than 50 lbs, more like 3 times that. Those had to be hand trucked inside 1 at a time.

On a different note, one of the absolute worst things about this job is pickups from non-regular shippers. I had one yesterday at a wastewater plant that I was absolutely dreading. Thankfully though even the security guard had a clue.
Mike2633 Thanks this.
