Reddaway pays chump change compared to most other companies. $.53 per mile is low for your area. Our barn tops out at $.51 a mile and our cost of living is way lower than Denver. Doesn't surprise me that you guys are short staffed.

    well, that will do it.

    The job is the job

Picking a company is all about pay and equipment. Old equipment, crappy pay, yeah, I'll pass.

Other thing is Reddaway caps top speed around 62 mph. For linehaul, it is demoralizing to make less then be the slowest truck on the roadway and consequently spend more time doing your job. Our trucks can't even reach the posted speed limit.

no wonder you guys are on linehaul. you're too old to do p&d. i heard if you guys buy your depends in bulk quantities that they'll put you in a raffle for a free jitterbug. not the old one either, its one of the touch screens.

All right, you pup. I just got comfortable in my rocking chair with a blanket on my lap. I'd really hate to have to get up and Chase you off my lawn. :D

35 here. In three years of P&D, this job has broken down my body more than 8 years of active duty service. Which is why I am trying to get back in. I don't want to be an old broken man when I retire.

It certainly takes its toll. I noticed my knees were weaker than I thought they were whenever I'd drag a heavy pallet around or slide a heavy pipe on the floor for example. My muscles are stronger than my joints are these days. It's easy to injure yourself when you're manhandling freight all day and in a hurry.

    But it ain't foodservice...
