Our new part time dock worker has the same problem at his ranch. He also offered me to swing by on weekends and do some target practice if I wanted. Got several ARs with different scopes. May head up over there for s###s and giggles.

Believe it or not sometimes the empty's are needed, we only have so many trailers in our division and for some reason or another we have a lot of trailers that are broken down, so what happens is the warehouse starts running out of trailers and then dispatch has to put pressure on night transit to hurry on back with some empties usually all the empties are sitting at our yard they seem to multiply like rabbits, so they very well could have needed those trailers. I know our 50ft trailers aren't supposed to stray to long from the warehouse, if one's sitting at a yard there supposed to be picked up pronto.

Now weather or not that's worth getting written up over I'm not sure, I've never worked for a trucking company so I don't really know how trucking companies do things.

Dude... We have over 50 empty pups in our yard. Five trailers for each available dock door. Usually we have like 5-7 empties. It's starting to look like an abandoned equipment lot. Difficult to back into a dock since the trailers are now double stacked and encroach on the space we use to pull up and back in. We can run 15 sets of empty triples out and we would still have empties to spare. It's nuts. Same with our con gears. They are all piled up.

Yes, from what my son said I have the impression that there are a large quantity of empties at his terminal too, and that the terminal is very crowded. I think he said they are looking to find a larger space to move into nearby, I guess things are reaching critical mass or something like that.

I don't know how many trailers we have our yard fills up with trailers and slowly they get filtered out, I know our broke down pile is pretty large, however I haven't heard of any trailer shortage at our warehouse. Doesn't like any of your bigger main terminals wonder where all there trailers are? Or does Reddeway not really retire equipment. Like Holland the sister company I swear some of there trailers are probably still from the TNT days.

Ok, riddle me this. I had a car run into me in a snowstorm back in February of this year, bent my ICC bumper all up. He was driving too fast for conditions and was cited accordingly. I just had an MVR pull, and this accident is listed as a violation, specifying "Property Damage". I also have CSA points from an accident that weren't there before (I have not had an accident since CSA was created, except this one).

    1. How the heck does someone rear-ending me involve me violating something? I was slowing for my exit, and was driving an appropriate speed for conditions.
    2. The only damage incurred was to the car and to my trailer. Isn't property damage usually used to describe surrounding unrelated objects, like poles, or landscaping, or guardrails etc?

Because you are the truck driver, it is always the truck driver's fault. You are a professional trained driver, you are supposed to use the crystal ball that came issued with your CDL to forsee and avoid being on the road where a car could rear end you.

All accidents are preventable. You could've stayed home from work that day.

CSA is a bunch of ####ing ########. Regardless of the disposition of the event it goes on your CSA score and counts against you.
