I know it's something tiny but it still pisses me off. The scales I go through (two of them every night) have a big (actually three) big fcking signs that say "MANTAIN 45 MPH - 100ft INTERVALS". This is to avoid clugging up the ramp into the scale with all the truck traffic. Perhaps one of the few times DOT has had a great idea... Well every time I'm behind another truck the SOB slams on the brakes and starts doing 20... Jesus fcking Christ, 45, it says FORTY FIVEEEEE.

Well that is why The Bronx is known as one of the worst Boroughs in NYC... Ask Jakebrake and cenutryclass, they are from NYC originally

We had someone get hit in the chest by a brick thrown through the windshield from a ditch. I still can't figure out how he wasn't badly injured by that other than the windshield slowing it down some. Luckily, he was the passenger doing a yearly ride along with another driver. Can't imagine driving and being hit by something like that.

They throw eggs at cars in the Bronx. Normally at the windshields, because when you use your wipers it makes it worse and people tend to pull over and try to clean it
Rocks Thanks this. -
The run i did earlier this week was a good one. 400 miles one way and a paid hotel room. Aside from a bad accident, and nightmare traffic due to wrong directions landing me on 285 in Atlanta dduring rush hour.

I take it they made you skip your turn point and press on to where your meet-driver was supposed to go back to? Everytime I do that I average about 370 miles or so. Not worth it to me since I get the same mileage on a turn and don't have to worry about laying over somewhere. I don't mind some of the places they keep me at. Some of the other hotels in bigger cities make me wish for reinforced doors.
A really good run for me is about 610 miles. That is about as far as my carrier will send me even if I have enough time to get back home.Rocks Thanks this. -
sometimes that is easier if its a 53 ft friendly part of town. I've had some totally stupid afternoons pulling a set around town because I'd run out of trailer space.
-
When I used to peddle we had either pups or 40 footers. We would only use s 53 footer to go to one stop and back. In NYC 53s weren't allowed unless going to one stop. And west heater county isn't 53 footer friendly
