I used to do that on a previous route when I decided I'd had it up to here. A 200 mile run would routinely turn into a 400 mile run with 3 or 4 returns out of 13 or 14 deliveries.

Spent half an hour on Friday moving gear around at our drop lot. The Flying J that we use as a drop lot is on the verge of kicking us out. We were using around 10 lanes of their 17 lane lot so we had to move a bunch of equipment towards the fence line to free up some parking spots. 7 trailers (4 which are fully loaded with freight) and around 13 converter dollies all sitting there. We don't even have that much equipment sitting at our terminal. They have every right to be mad at us for storing so much stuff on their property.

My company is pissing off customers who are still waiting for their freight that has been sitting in trailers or on the dock for up to 2 weeks. There is no space on the dock to move around and we are running short on trailers since most of the ones in our yard are being used as storage.

I know, this is going to sound totally crazy and clearly management has a plan (no no, really I'm sure they do, get up off the floor), but ummm, wouldn't it be easier just to deliver it????

I know, I'm just a stupid truck driver and all..............................

Yay Mondays! The line haul driver I slipseat with put the truck in the shop Saturday morning and the two beater trucks don't work. One leaks air bad from the emergency line and the other won't start. I am at the shop waiting for them to run to the store to pick up a new air hose. And I have two trailers of deliveries to do after this delay. And the morons at the terminal thought electrical tape would stop the leak- yeah.........no!

We now have over 1,000 tires that have yet to be delivered. Holy crap. Who is going to sling all of those?

Management goes:. So today we are going to play catch-up. Gonna send one guy out early to knock out one trailer, followed by two more that will mop up the rest. Then a final guy will come in for pickups.

They are delusional. We don't even have that many drivers. They are moving around manpower that doesn't even exist. I don't see how we still have most of these accounts seeing how we are sitting on their freight for over a week.

I got out way late today, the trailer my trailer was attached to had the refer unit go down and that caused a big brewhaha, they had to repack into a different trailer and that took 2 hours and then send the set out. However I had help and we actually got done in a pretty reasonable amount of time.

1000 tires to unload by hand? Yeah.......how about "#### that #### for $800 Alex"!

Here is an idea. Load those tires into a 53' or a set, whatever it fits into. Have a driver drop off the trailer or trailers at the customer and leave one of your stupid ### bosses there to sling them while the driver leaves him there to go pick up another trailer to do P&D. When the tires are offloaded have a driver bobtail over to pickup the trailers and the boss.
